Wearables, reimagined for cognitive recovery.

Wearable technology is becoming standard across healthcare, rehabilitation, and workplace environments.

Unlike devices that track data continuously, the Circl headset measures brain activity in just minutes—delivering precise, science-backed insight without the need for prolonged or all-day wear.

STEP ONE

Take the test. Establish a baseline.

Complete a brief, 10-minute assessment in the Circl app to measure cognitive function using brainwave data.

Receive an instant Brain Score that provides a clear baseline snapshot of current cognitive performance.

STEP TWO

Track changes over time

Monitor cognitive performance longitudinally to observe trends and patterns over time.

Track changes across days, weeks, or months to better understand recovery trajectories.

Repeated measurement enables clearer documentation of progress and variability across different phases of healing.

STEP THREE

Understand what’s changing

Circl breaks cognitive performance into core metrics — brain power, brain speed, alertness, focus, and memory.

These metrics show which aspects of brain function are improving, stable, or changing over time.

Together, they provide a clear, objective view of cognitive recovery across multiple domains.

Strengthen your brain.

Gain clear visibility into cognitive recovery and support informed understanding of brain health over time.

Your brain in action

Every moment, the brain processes visual information, rapidly interpreting the surrounding environment.

This activity produces a measurable response known as a visually evoked potential (VEP)—a well-established neurophysiological marker of cognitive function.

VEPs provide a reliable and repeatable measure of brain activity, making them a strong foundation for assessing cognitive recovery and change over time.

Circl applies this proven science to evaluate brain function objectively.

The Science behind circl
Example of 'game' on Circl app. Smartphone screen displaying instructions for a game called "Oddball." Steps include not tapping purple circles and tapping yellow circles, with emphasis on tapping quickly.

Objective insight, backed by neuroscience.

Circl measures electrical signals at the scalp during brief in-app assessments, delivering immediate analysis of cognitive function.

These measurements generate standardized metrics that make brain function measurable and comparable over time:

Brain Score
A composite measure of overall cognitive function.

Brain Power
Reflects the brain’s capacity to process information and sustain cognitive effort.

Brain Speed
Measures how quickly and accurately the brain responds to new information.

Alertness
Indicates responsiveness to changes in the environment.

Focus
Assesses the ability to concentrate and filter distractions.

Memory
Evaluates information retention and recall over time.

Our commitment to you.

Privacy, security and encryption

At Circl, we believe that your trust is our most valuable asset. That's why we're committed to complete transparency in how we handle sensitive brainwave data. We collect brainwave data solely for the purpose of providing personalized brain function insights and objective measurement.

Trustworthy protections*

Brainwave data is encrypted using state-of-the-art protocols in transit and at rest. Every Circl policy has security as its foundational principle.

The only identifier in our system is a 26-digit randomly generated code. This numerical code simply associates test data to a user account. Circl doesn't have the ability to associate test data with you.

Importantly, our secure analytics engine is required to make raw test data readable. Without processing data through our analytics engine, test results are unintelligible.

*Encryption methods include Transport Layer Security (TLS) for data in transit and 256-bit AES security for data at rest (stored on servers). We periodically update our security practices to conform with Microsoft recommendations.

FAQs

  • Yes, the Circl headset utilizes the same technology used in neuroscience labs for decades. The headset is a passive recorder of the electrical activity of your brain, it does not emit harmful energy in any form.

  • Circl is not a medical device and is not meant to be a diagnostic tool. The Circl headset can assess your brain's resilience at a certain point in time and then help the user identify patterns over weeks and months of use. A lower score puts an individual at greater risk of developing a brain health issue.  If users see a continual decline in their brain score over time, they may want to contact a medical professional to further explore their cognitive health.

  • It’s natural to have daily ups and downs in brain performance. There are many biometric and lifestyle factors that affect cognitive function. Talk to your doctor if your brain performance continues on a downward sloping trend over a prolonged period of weeks or months.

A persistent negative trend is a concern and indicates a potential risk of a significant brain health issue.

  • No. The Circl Headset has no way of knowing how intelligent you are. Rather, you will have a better understanding of how healthy and resilient your brain is.

However, by strengthening cognitive resilience, you can improve your ability to access and apply your intelligence more effectively. A more resilient brain supports clearer thinking, better focus, and enhanced problem-solving, allowing you to make the most of your cognitive potential.

  • Circl is a world leader in mobile EEG digital signal processing. In technical terms, we detect brainwave data with an amplitude to 3 millionths of a volt with millisecond accuracy. The Circl headset measures your brainwaves one thousand times more accurately than a heart rate monitor measures your heart rate.

  • Only you or those you specifically decide to share the information with such as a family member or physician. Circl complies with all relevant privacy laws in the markets where our technology is available.

  • No. The Circl headset is designed for stationary use in an environment with minimal distraction. Although it’s lightweight and comfortable, it’s not recommended for intense physical activities or exercise.
